Saturday 12th June 2021

Dear Parents and Carers,

Please click on the document below to view a letter addressed to yourselves from Walsall Public Health outlining a change in recommended guidance with the wearing of face masks. As the letter outlines, Covid cases in Walsall are on the increase with the new ‘Delta’ variant also on the rise. From Monday 14th June 2021, all students will be required to bring with them and wear a face mask at Pool Hayes Academy until Walsall Public Health guidance changes. Students will always be required to wear a face mask inside including lessons and corridors. When students are outside on lunch and break, they will not be required to wear a face mask. If your child is exempt from wearing a face mask on medical grounds, please ensure proof of their exemption is sent to office@poolhayes.attust.org.uk or contact our Student Support Team.

We have seen fewer cases in our academy this week but I’m sure you will appreciate and support that we need to remain vigilant and take no chances, both with our academy community and your family’s health. As you are all aware, the impact one positive case can have on our academy is huge and I would rather take no chances to ensure students stay in lessons and continue their education.

Many thanks for your continued support.

Yours sincerely

Mr T. McDowall
Principal
