Over the next month we have many exciting events planned for you to support your transition into secondary education. Information on the events can be found below, but please keep an eye on the web page and our social media pages for updates on the exact dates for these.
Year 6 Teacher Meetings
We have already conducted virtual meetings with all of the Year 6 teachers from your child’s school. This has allowed us to get detailed information of every students joining us, along with predicted SATS results, medical information and any special educational needs.
Year 7 Tutor Calls
Week beginning Monday 22nd June 2020, you will receive a call from your child’s form tutor. During this call the tutor will require some information from you. They will check your contact email address and your two mobile contact numbers.
Primary School Teams Meetings
The transition team are planning to hold Microsoft TEAMS meetings with your child’s primary school to give them an opportunity to ask questions and meet some of our staff virtually. If your child is not attending school currently, there will be an opportunity for your child to join the TEAMS meeting from home as long as a parent/carer is present too.
Virtual Transition Evening
On Thursday 9th July, we will be posting our virtual transition evening. This will be a pre-recorded event and will allow staff to deliver the key messages that they were planning to give you on the night. This will be posted onto the transition section of the website.
Virtual Tutor Evening
Following on from the transition evening, you will be invited to attend a virtual tutor meeting along with your child. This will be held on Microsoft TEAMS. This will be an opportunity for you to meet your child’s new tutor and other parents/students within the form group. Further invitations will be emailed out to you nearer the time.
SEND and Lone Starter Meetings
If your child has any special educational needs or is a coming from a primary school that is not one of our main feeder schools then we will be organising 1:1 virtual meetings with you to gain further information and offer additional reassurance. These meetings will again be held over Microsoft TEAMS and invites will be sent through individual emails so please look out for these.
