Welcome

Welcome parents, carers and students to your very own Pool Hayes Academy transition page. It is through the use of this page that we will be keeping you up to date with all of the events that we have got planned, along with any additional updates.

We are absolutely thrilled to welcome your child to Pool Hayes Academy next September!
Transitioning from primary to secondary school is a landmark moment in every child’s journey towards greater confidence, independence, and opportunity.

We know this can feel like a big step for families, and we want you to know that we are here to support, guide, and celebrate your child every step of the way.

At Pool Hayes Academy, we cannot wait to get to know our new students and ensure they feel ready, reassured, and excited about starting their secondary school adventure.

In order to support the transition process, we commit to take the following steps:

• Visit your child in their primary setting, giving them the chance to get to know us, ask questions, and feel confident about moving to a new school.
• Speak with your child’s teacher to gather important information that will help us support them from day one. Where appropriate, we will also liaise with the SENCO to ensure any additional needs are fully understood.
• Invite your child to attend an induction day at Pool Hayes Academy, where they can explore the school, meet staff, and take part in exciting activities. If your child has significant needs—shared with us by their primary school—additional visits can be arranged to support a smooth transition.
• Invite all parents and carers to our Parent Information Evening and our afternoon café events, where we share our school ethos, all the practical information you’ll need to feel confident about your child’s start with us, as well as begin liaising with you as you become part of our PHAmily.

Upcoming Events

Over the next few month we will have many exciting events planned for you to support your transition into secondary education. Information on the events will be posted below in the near future so please keep an eye on the web page and our social media pages for updates on the exact dates for these.

Meet & Greet Cafe

On Thursday 14th of May, 4:30pm until 5:30pm, we will be hosting a Meet and Greet Cafe, where both you and your child will be able to meet some key staff and ask any questions relevant to your child’s preparation into attending our academy in Septemeber.

We will have some refreshments ready for you and we look forward to spending some time getting to know you and welcoming your child into their new secondary school.
