The PE Department has an outstanding extra-curricular provision including clubs, teams, training sessions, competitions, as well as visits to live events. These clubs are made easier by our superb facilities which include a large sports hall, a gymnasium, a dance studio, and extensive outdoor facilities.

This provision is largely focused around Easter and May – in the run-up to exams – but additional sessions take place at other times of the year too. Again, though largely voluntary, targeted students are directed to attend.
There are a wide range of clubs and societies taking place through the week – both at lunch-times and after school – ranging from Science Club to the Eco Club and Computer Modelling. In addition, there are multiple weekly events connected to our themed Focus Weeks including Masterchef competitions, charity fund-raising activities and careers / aspiration sessions. Equally, we offer a strong line in more character-building activities ranging from fire cadet projects, army training, mock trials and student leadership activities.
The excellent Dance, Drama and Music Department offer a range of extra-curricular activities and excursions throughout the year. The Dance Department stages weekly clubs and an annual ‘Night of the Stars’ Dance Show. The Drama Department’s weekly clubs complement a wide range of performances, ranging from show-stopping musicals to high-quality plays. Finally, the Music Department offers clubs, peripatetic lessons and termly concerts and a RockFest to encourage students to hone their skills before performing in front of enthusiastic audiences.
There are a wide range of trips both in the UK and further afield and in recent times these have included London, Bryntysilio, New York, Paris, skiing and Spain.
