Dear pupils, students, parents, carers, colleagues, governors and members of our wider ATT family!

May I begin by saying that I hope you are all keeping safe and well in this strangest of years. I have written to you a couple of times since the pandemic began and I have often made reference to our mantra of #safesteadygradual in planning and delivering our response.

I hope you have continued to see in our approach an organisation which has focused on putting safety first while preserving the very highest standards of education, whether that be provided in person or remotely.

I am delighted to be writing to you today with some very positive news indeed about the publication of Academy Transformation Trust’s first ever Annual Report. I am writing on behalf of our five Members and our eleven Trustees, who all give voluntarily of their time to support me and my team in the leadership of our trust. You can read more about their roles in the report itself.

You will know that we take very seriously the business of being accountable to those we serve – in every one of our 21 academy communities spread across ten different local authority areas. It is in the spirit of that local accountability that our Members have sponsored the production of this Annual Report to enable us to share with you our story of progress.

I am now into my third year of leading our fantastic trust, and I could not be more proud of what we have achieved together in that time. The report tells the story of an organisation which puts people first, is absolutely focused on delivering a top drawer education, is more financially stable now than ever before and, as a result, is growing in confidence with every day.

Of course, there is more to do, and the report will also give you a sense of where our priorities for the future now lie. Whatever the next year may throw at us, we will remain resolute in our aim of making the biggest difference to the communities we serve through the delivery of top drawer education.

In a spirit of environmental sustainability, we have not produced printed versions of it, but your local academy office will be able to print one for you if you are not able to access it online.

I do hope you enjoy reading this report. We intend for it to develop in both style and content over the coming years, and would welcome any views you may have on it. Please feel free to feed these in to your local academy leaders in the first instance.

My very best wishes to you. Stay safe and well.
