By the time you get to the end of Year 7 you will have:

  • Had opportunities to reflect on your personal qualities and the way you relate to your peers.
  • Begun to identify your strengths and how you can make the best use of them.
  • Started finding out about different career areas and qualification routes that might interest you in the future, through careers sessions in Pool Hayes Learning lessons.
  • Completed a careers questionnaire to identify careers ideas that interest you.
  • Had optional access to impartial information, advice and guidance from the school’s Careers Co-ordinator and Careers Advisor.
  • Started to record your journey in your Work Related Learning passport*

By the time you get to the end of Year 8 you will have:

  • Built upon the self-development skills you worked on in Year 7.
  • Started to develop your financial management skills, including budgeting and banking and learned about rights & responsibilities at work, discrimination and stereotyping.
  • Had optional access to impartial information, advice and guidance from the school’s Careers co-ordinator and careers adviser.
  • Continued with your career exploration and self-development by taking part in careers activities delivered throughout the year.
  • Completed the careers questionnaire to identify your skills and interests related to the world of work and explore career ideas that might interest you.
  • Continue to add to your WRL passport.*
  • Taken part in Focus events like STEM and Stereotyping.

By the time you get to the end of Year 9 you will have:

  • Continued with your career exploration and self-development by taking part in careers activities delivered throughout the year. Activities will focus on developing transferable skills; looking at different careers; recognising what is important to you in a career and rights and responsibilities at work.
  • Developed an understanding of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs through sessions delivered in Pool Hayes Learning.
  • Completed the careers questionnaire to identify your skills and interests related to the world of work and explore career ideas that might interest you.
  • Had optional access to impartial information, advice and guidance from the school’s Careers Co-ordinator and Careers Adviser.
  • Had additional optional access to impartial information, advice and guidance from speakers at Careers week and careers events.
  • Used your developing knowledge of yourself and various career pathways to help you choose GCSE options. Additional support from school including a Year 9 Options Evening.
  • Had the opportunity to attend speaker sessions from a university or college.
  • Continue to add to your WRL passport.*
